Proposed merge with Uganda (1962–1963)

[edit]

I think Uganda (1962–1963) should be merged into History of Uganda (1962–71). The two clearly have overlapping scope, and at the moment it seems better to merge into the latter than restrict the latter's scope to 1964 onwards. - Jarry1250 [Vacation needed] 17:35, 13 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It makes little sense to merge the article on Uganda (1962–1963), when the country enjoyed a dominion constitution with Westminster-style parliamentary government and the British monarch as head of state, with historical articles focused on the personalities of Milton Obote (1962-1971) and Idi Amin (1971-1979). I say keep the separate 1962-1963 article focusing on the formal and constitutional aspects of the nation's brief history as a British dominion. This is the approach taken by wikipedia articles about other former British dominions such as Ghana, Kenya, Tanganyika, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Mauritius, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, and Malta. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:1970:5BA2:4A00:513D:D4FB:14B2:A54B (talk) 01:25, 9 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
